"What My Library Means to Me"

Friends of Hayward Library proudly announce the 4th Annual Youth Poetry Contest to celebrate youth literacy and creativity.

Original works of poetry on the theme, "What My Library Means to Me" may be entered for consideration in one of the following age Categories:

  • 1st and 2nd grades
  • 3rd and 4th grades
  • 5th and 6th grades
  • 7th and 8th grades
  • 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades

Limit one entry per child/youth. Entrants must live or attend school in Hayward, California. Entries must conform to the rules and guidelines listed on this site. Click here to read the complete Contest Rules.

Deadline to enter:  April 8, 2016.

Winning entries will be presented during a special ceremony with Hayward City Council at 6:15 pm on April 26, 2016.
